If you've recently changed your Windows encryption settings to enable the option 'Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption', when you next try and log in to Sage 50 Accounts with your correct password, you may get a message that your password is invalid.

To resolve this issue, disable the 'Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption' in your Windows settings.

1. Press the Windows key + R.
2. In the Run window, enter secpol.msc then click OK.
   
   The Local Security Policy winows appears.
   
   
3. Expand Local Policies and click Security Options.
4. Scroll down and double-click System crypography: Use FIPS compliant alogorithms for encrpytion, hashing, and signing.
   
   
   
   
5. Select Disabled then click OK and close the Local Security Policy window.

NOTE: If you create a new company with the FIPS settings enabled, when you log back into the company you're prompted to set security questions/password even though the password has already been set.
