How to check - I can open Sage 50 Accounts

1. Open Sage 50 Accounts and the relevant company.
2. On the menu bar, click Help then click About.
3. In the Program Details area, the location of where the data is held is shown under Data Directory. For example:
   • C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2020\Company.000\Accdata
     
     
   CAUTION: You must stop the Sage 50 Accounts Data Service before renaming and creating any files.

How to check - I can't open Sage Accounts

1. In Windows, browse to the following relevant folder:
    TIP: To show the ProgramData folder you may need to show hidden files and folders.

   Sage 50 Accounts v22	C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2016
   Sage 50 Accounts v21	C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2015

2. Double-click the COMPANY file and choose to open it using Notepad, then click OK.
3. A notepad window opens, showing the path to your accounts data. If you have more than one company, all the paths show on separate lines.
